Director & ombudsman

Jan Hořeňovský was one of the founders of the Digital Ombudsman and serves as both its Director and Ombudsman. He studied law at the Faculty of Law at Charles University, where he subsequently earned a doctorate in the theory, philosophy, and sociology of law. He has published in the American academic journal The Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research and is co-author of the book Legal Aspects of Artificial Intelligence – Challenges and Opportunities. From September 2021 to January 2022, he served as a Cegla Visiting Research Fellow at Tel Aviv University in Israel. He also spent part of his studies at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom, where, as part of the Erasmus programme, he focused primarily on European and public law. He is able to conduct proceedings in Czech, Slovak, and English.
