
Marián graduated in law from the Faculty of Law at Comenius University in Bratislava, where he continues to this day as a doctoral candidate at the Department of Theory of Law and Philosophy of Law; he also studied finance and taxation at the Faculty of National Economy at the University of Economics in Bratislava. His professional and academic work spans various fields, with a particular focus on freedom of expression, on which he also publishes academic research. He has previously worked at various human rights institutions, including the Office of the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and the Office of the Public Defender of Rights, and has completed programmes run by the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights and the Open Society Foundation. His primary focus is public law, and he is able to conduct proceedings in Slovak, German, and English.
The Digital Ombudsman is a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under Article 21 of the Digital Services Act (DSA). We defend the rights of online platform users throughout the EU. Certification was granted by the Slovak Council for Media Services.
